Q3Ambientfest features on a wide range of contemporary composers in the neo-classical and experimental music scenes and is dedicated to all open-minded music lovers.

The eclectic architecture of Potsdam, from neo-classical palaces to GDR “Plattenbauten” (slab buildings) mirrors the music of Q3Ambientfest.

Q3A is the abbreviation for “Querwandbau” (cross-wall construction), a particular type of multi-story pre-fabricated building constructed in the GDR.

Founded in 2017 by Daniel & Sebastian Selke, Q3A has hosted 72 artists from 23 different countries, and takes place at Fabrik Potsdam, near the world-famous film town Babelsberg, less than an hour away from Berlin.

Q3A is powered by Keychange, an international campaign which is run by PRS Foundation and supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and by the state capital Potsdam. Q3A is organised at Fabrik Potsdam, in partnership with Dutch music initiative Fluister, piano & coffee co., Traurig und Untanzbar, Klavins Piano Manufaktúra Kft., SOMA Laboratory, 30CC, Schh. and Brudenell Piano Sessions

It also joins Piano Day, an annual worldwide event and platform for piano related projects founded by a group of likeminded people around pianist and composer Nils Frahm, that takes place on the 88th day of the year because of the number of keys on the instrument being celebrated.
